If speech messages are used, it’s important to include street name in the walk message, or it’s impossible to discern which one is sounding. A person standing at either crosswalk hearing “walk sign is on” would not know which crosswalk has the walk interval.

In addition, message would have to be very loud in order to be heard at the crosswalk. If someone is using vibrotactile information there, they probably wouldn’t reach the edge of the street before the end of the WALK since the pole is so far back from the crosswalk.

It’s a long way to either crosswalk start location from the APS. This doesn’t meet requirements of MUTCD for pushbutton location.
